Metroid 2 for game boy the mother metroid. It was the first metroid game I played and the final fight is fun.

While he's maybe not as iconic as Ridley, his boss battle is by far the most challenging and rewarding to complete. His connection to Samus is also really cool. Visually it's probably one of the best fights. I think the only thing I don't like is the music, but that's more of an issue I have with Metroid Dread as a whole.

I still love Meta Ridley from Prime to death.

I love his theme, his design, the backdrop for the battle, how uniquely fun his flying and melee phases are... love it all.

I also love the versatility of the way you can do the battle - you can just as easily slam him with the plasma beam while taking a lot of damage up front as you can playing a more tactical dodge game, in both phases.

I also personally love using the boost ball trick to initiate the fights second phase early - yeah it's technically an exploit, but to me it breathes more life into a fight that's already super unique and has different ways to do it. You can do most of the flying phase the normal way, the lure the big boy onto the ground and pound those wings off with that boost ball. Awesome sauce. 👌👌
