A Sinister Laboratory[1] is stated to be Kanden's place of origin in the Metroid Prime Hunters introduction.
History[]
The sinister laboratory is the place where Kanden received his powerful genetic enhancements, such as his Stinglarva form, with the goal of creating the ultimate soldier as part of the Enoema Living Weapons project. However, the experiment went horribly wrong, with the neural combat encoding sequence leading to Kanden's state of insanity. The laboratory's researchers were killed by Kanden, and he escaped.[2]
Trivia[]
- During the intro cinematic montage introducing each Bounty Hunter, Kanden is seen escaping from a building shortly before it explodes. The building is shaped like a human heart with multiple chimneys emitting smog. It also appears dilapidated, though that is likely a symptom of its imminent destruction. While never explicitly confirmed, it is commonly speculated that this building is the sinister laboratory. In concept artwork by Andrew Jones, it is simply labeled Kanden Environment, following the same naming scheme as Weavel Environment.
