An Access Code or identity code is a password issued to Galactic Federation personnel allowing them to access Federation ships and important areas. Individuals who are not officially part of the Federation but are trusted allies, such as Samus Aran, also have Access Codes.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption[]
Samus must enter hers twice at the beginning of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. First, she must submit her identity code to the G.F.S. Olympus to be authorized to dock, using the transmission console in her Gunship. Once on the Olympus, she needs to enter her Access Code in Docking Bay 4 as the first step in a security screening before she is allowed to enter the Ready Room. She will find her code on the Information terminal directly behind the Key Code panel. In Corruption, Access Codes seem to be limited to five digits, and consist entirely of numbers. Samus's code is 13576. Another code, 78356, is found on a dead Federation Marine's PDA on the G.F.S. Valhalla and entered into a Key Code pad nearby. When this is done, a final message from Aurora Unit 313 is heard.
Access Codes are also used to unlock wallpapers in the Special Mission Japanese flash game.
Metroid: Other M[]
In Metroid: Other M, Samus is seen typing a longer password with letters and presumably numbers into a computer in the Bioweapon Research Center. The only letters that can be made out of this password are "EYK". When "Madeline Bergman" types in her password, only "OT4" can be made out.

Unused scans in Metroid Prime Remastered mention security codes used by the Space Pirates. The text indicates that Samus would have had to obtain an access code by scanning a Deck Commander's corpse to progress through the Frigate Orpheon. They, and their intended locations, are as follows:
