Amanda Rotella

Amanda Rotella is an American video game environment artist. She worked at Retro Studios from February 2006 to January 2020. After working as a contract designer on Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Rotella was hired in 2008 as a full-time artist. She worked on all of Retro's post-Corruption projects, including their Donkey Kong Country games and Mario Kart 7. It is very likely that she was also involved with Metroid Prime 4, after Retro was assigned to develop it again in January 2019. Rotella left Retro in January 2020 and joined Armature Studio, which was founded by former Retro developers, in March the same year as a senior environment artist.

Rotella was a game design intern for eight months in 2005 at Full Sail University, before joining Retro a year later. While at Full Sail, she created models for Colormental, a 2-D puzzle and platforming game that won a Student Showcase award.[1] She speaks Japanese.
