The ancient Chozo machine[1] was a mechanism encountered in Kraid's Hideout in Metroid: Zero Mission. Unlike in Metroid, the remade Kraid's Hideout features zip lines, tracks along the ceiling Samus can traverse by holding onto a scrolling block. To activate them, however, Samus had to track down this machine and morph inside it, similar to several Chozo Statues. Upon activation, the machine flashed and enabled use of the zip lines.
The machine is located in the middlemost of a trio of corridors on the upper-right side of the lair.

TURN ON THE POWER
"An ancient Chozo machine sits at the left edge of a lava pool. Jump onto the machine then roll into Morph Ball form to activate it. Every red light in the lair's ceiling will illuminate, indicating that the area's sliding mechanisms are up and running."
