Anti-Phazon Units are pickups that are similar to Energy Capsules. They only appear on Phaaze in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Unlike the normal energy capsules, these units are always blue, and resemble the image of Phaaze displayed by Aurora Unit 242 before travelling to the planet. Fittingly, they also bear a small resemblance to one of the round growths embedded inside Samus (as she would require Anti-Phazon units to halt the spread of the growth's corruption).
Absorbing Anti-Phazon Units is the only way to purge Samus' Phazon level, other than using the Hyper Grapple on enemies or letting Phazon Puffers absorb her energy. In the NTSC version of the game, Anti-Phazon Units reduce the amount of Samus Aran's Phazon corruption by 25 units. In the PAL and Metroid Prime Trilogy versions of the game, Small Anti-Phazon Units reduce it by 25 units, and Large Anti-Phazon Units reduce it by 50 units. Despite these given values, they are believed to be closer to 17.5 and 35 respectively.[1]
