The Aqua Sac is an aquatic plant-like organism encountered in Metroid Prime inside the crashed Frigate Orpheon.
Characteristics[]
Aqua Sacs appear to be environmental counterparts to Sap Sacs. They exhibit a bluish sap, clustered small sacs as opposed to the single terrestrial Sac, and (as the name implies) an affinity for aquatic environments. Unlike the land counterpart, when an Aqua Sap is exposed to enough force it does not explode violently. It only "breaks", so to say, and the pieces simply float from the body of the sac. It provides no threat nor any benefit to Samus.
Specific rooms that contain Aqua Sacs include Main Ventilation Shaft Section C and Connection Elevator to Deck Beta.

Logbook entry[]
Aqua Sac
Species: Aqua Sac
Will burst when subjected to impact or trauma.
Believed to be in the same family as the Sap Sac, this plant has similar features. It bursts when exposed to force. This protective response keeps most creatures from feeding on it.
Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion: Prima's Official Strategy Guide[]
- Aqua Sac
- "These are similar to Sap Sacs found in Tallon Overworld and Chozo Ruins. When shot, they break into multiple explosive fragments. Aqua Sacs can be deadly if you run in to them, so keep your distance. You can usually just ignore them, but be sure to scan them for your Log Book."
- Aqua Sac
- Found In: Tallon Overworld
- Recommended Weapon: Any
- "Found underwater, this relative of the Sap Sac is a highly explosive creature. When agitated, it explodes violently and damages any nearby creatures. Blow up an Aqua Sac with any weapon to aid in the destruction of nearby creatures. Don't stand too close, though, or you'll take a large amount of damage."
Metroid Prime: The Official Nintendo Player's Guide[]
- AQUA SAC
- "Aqua Sacs are near relatives to the Sap Sac. The tasty treats have learned to survive in the depths of the ocean, giving them an advantage over other Tallon IV life-forms. If you shoot one underwater, it will dissolve into blobules--a far better fate than its exploding cousin on terra firma."

- COMBAT TIPS
- "As with the Sap Sac, the Aqua Sac is a creature that is best left alone unless hunting for power-ups. If it's vital that one is destroyed, do it from afar because the concussion damages Samus if she's too close."
Metroid Prime Official Perfect Guide[]
- AQUA SAC
- "Aqua Sacs are virtually identical to the earlier Sap Sac. They're harmless to the touch, but if detonated, they'll cause damage to anything in the area."
