The Armadigger[1] is a species in Metroid Dread that is found in Dairon.
Description[]
The Armadigger is quadrupedal, but is able to stand on its hind legs, whereas its front legs are shorter. It has red eyes and tusks, as well as a shelled back. Interestingly, it appears to have a metallic collar on its neck, hinting that it is not merely a wild animal; a mural seen in Elun suggests that the Armadigger species may have been used by the Mawkin tribe.[2] An Armadigger is also found in stasis in one room in Hanubia.
When an Armadigger spots Samus, it charges at her at high speed, and quickly turns around to retry if she evades the attack. Samus can defeat it by using the Melee Counter before it strikes her, or shoot at it from a distance. The creature's charging nature is similar to the Moto of SR388 and Grenchlers of Aether; a similarly behaved creature, the Takumaku, is seen elsewhere on ZDR.
After the X Parasites are released from Elun, all Armadiggers are infected and replaced by the X. However, this does not change their appearance or behavior.

Metroid Dread Report Volume 8[]
"A violent, four-footed creature native to ZDR. Charges at Samus with great speed when she’s detected and will quickly change its direction and try again if she evades the attack. Fight back with a Melee Counter or attack it from outside its charging path."

- Armadigger
- When it discovers Samus, it will perform a charge that is possible to Melee Counter.
- It will not charge if the horizontal axis does not match, so beams and missiles from high places are effective.
