Armored security locks, found in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, are used with Mk VI Gates and GF Bridges to hold them in place. The locks often malfunction, preventing the gate or bridge from opening. Whether this was an actual design flaw or a result of the conditions in which they were installed is unknown, although it is likely the latter. If their security systems cannot be bypassed through conventional means, they can be destroyed once their armor has been disengaged by a nearby Interface Module.
