Asborean Spawn[1] are a juvenile form of the Asborean in Metroid: Other M.
Description[]
Asborean Spawns are small creatures resembling horseshoe crabs, with a constant glowing red pulsating aura emanating around their entire bodies. Their parent spawns out numerous Asborean Spawns as one of its attacks. The organisms are very weak and will only move around the room attempting to collide with Samus to damage her, similarly to one of their adult form's attacks. Although they can become troublesome in large numbers, they can all be dispatched very easily using the Diffusion Beam.
On Hard Mode, the Asborean summons an increased number of Asborean Spawn when its neck is extended, rendering it harder to perform a Lethal Strike.
