The Aurora Chamber is a room aboard the derelict G.F.S. Valhalla. It appears in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Description[]
A large open room that once housed the flagship's Aurora Unit. This chamber now contains the shattered remains of Aurora Unit 313's stasis tank, with massive damage to the room left behind. Some surfaces ooze with Phazon markings and pulsating Phazon tendrils. A big gaping hole into deep space can be seen above the back of the Aurora Unit's podium, which leaves this room fully depressurized as a result. This hole was left behind as the Aurora Unit was forcefully ripped from its position by Space Pirate forces. A massive pitfall is also present within this room.
The functioning door located at the top of the room is locked off by a retracted walkway. In order to proceed through this door, Samus needs to insert two Energy Cells into their respective slots to restore auxiliary power to the room, which will activate the elevator and lower a bridge to the next room (although the gears controlling this bridge are stuck after the Cells are inserted). However, the Energy Cell Stations are locked in place by covers due to damaged machinery. Samus needs to jog the machinery using a heavy impact in order to make the machine function again, which will then lift the covers. After placing two Energy Cells in the room, Samus will encounter a Metroid Hatcher.
Strangely enough, there are several small, shattered glass tanks along the outside of the room that serve no purpose (other than allowing the Sequence Break described below). They look remarkably similar to the Phazon Metroid tanks found in the Space Pirate base on Elysia. This suggests that the Metroids that infest the Valhalla were released from this room, or escaped during the invasion. One of the released Metroids could have developed into the Metroid Hatcher encountered here.
This room's Olympus counterpart is the similarly named Aurora Chamber. However, the two rooms are in different locations on their respective ships, with the version on the G.F.S. Olympus located near the center of the ship, and the version on the G.F.S. Valhalla located along the starboard ("northern") edge of the ship. It could be interpreted that this room's peripheral location on the G.F.S. Valhalla was what made Aurora Unit 313 easier to capture by Space Pirate forces.
Sequence Breaking[]
It is possible for Samus to skip the Energy Cells required in this room. Samus must use the Screw Attack to try and reach the raised bridge. She will not be able to, however, and will bounce off and fall into the pit at the bottom of the room. Samus will respawn on the ledge behind the bridge, allowing her to move to the next room.[1]

Development notes[]
The room's internal name is 05_abandoned_otherbrain, named after its G.F.S. Olympus counterpart 03_gfship_otherbrain (Aurora Chamber) which has a similar layout and role, but a different location on the ship. The keyword abandoned indicates the G.F.S. Valhalla, and the prefix 05 indicates that this is the last of 5 main rooms on the G.F.S. Valhalla.
