Aurora Unit access doors

Aurora Unit access doors are a type of vault door that guard access to Aurora Chambers, and the Aurora Units within. They can only be opened by authorized Galactic Federation Marine Corps personnel, who use a retinal scanner. While these doors are presumably present on every Olympus-class battleship that has an Aurora Unit, only one is seen in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, in Aurora Access on the Olympus. As Samus is ascending the lift, G-5 will announce that she is enroute to the Aurora Chamber, prompting a PED Marine stationed outside the doors to open them. Once Samus steps into the Aurora Chamber, the doors lock behind her, leaving her with nowhere else to go except to the communications platform. She leaves again through the doors after receiving her mission orders from Aurora Unit 242.

Aurora Unit 217 on SkyTown, Elysia is protected by a Kinetic Lock, which Samus opens herself with the Boost Ball. Its chamber is considerably smaller than that of 242. No access doors are seen in the G.F.S. Valhalla's wrecked Aurora Chamber.
