The "BRC operations base" is a room in the Bioweapon Research Center. It appears in Metroid: Other M.
Description[]
The base is a two-level square-shaped room. A vent is found in the left wall, separated by four walls with a small hole at their base. It can be seen through three transparent windows. The third section of this tunnel contains a Missile Tank. In the center of the top floor is a cylindrical structure displaying holographic information around its front and sides. The back of the structure is open and it conceals a shaft that can be Kick Climbed to reach a hidden ledge, with a tunnel entrance. The wall up here notably has a a pattern of tiles in the rough shape of hexagonal squares, with a proper hexagon at each tile's corners. Samus can enter the tunnel to drop behind the wall of the top floor and reach the Missile Tank. To leave, she can roll to the end of the wall vent to enter another tunnel that drops her to the lower floor.
On the lower floor, an array of computer terminals and desks can be found displaying information. They are surrounded by three large screens mounted on the walls, which display schematic information, and a lone wall with a screen that displays scrolling text. In between the desks are three glass panes in the ground. Samus can destroy the one in the center with a Missile or Bomb to access another Missile Tank in the floor. She can return to the top floor via a staircase.
Role[]
Visiting this room is entirely optional, and it can only be accessed in the post-credits sequence. It is accessible from the control room; during Samus's initial visit to that room, Samus corners Madeline Bergman in front of the door to the lower floor, which is locked. The upper doors appear to be open, but are not reachable at the time.
The bottom floor of the room is witnessed in flashbacks while Samus and Madeline are discussing MB, who was shown to be demonstrating her research into artificial intelligence in this room. This was also where she began to turn against the humans. There is a round-table during these scenes that is not present in the room explored in-game.
