Reactor Core Entrance

A Ball Clamp (as named in the Metroid Prime internal data) is a lock mechanism used by the Space Pirates in two rooms far into the Frigate Orpheon, Cargo Freight Lift to Deck Gamma and Reactor Core Entrance. By placing a spherical object in a hologram, the door to the next room will open. Samus can roll into the clamps in Morph Ball mode to unlock the clamps. Interface Modules must be scanned before either clamp can be used.

Ball Clamps appear twice in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption as well, first in the Podworks after the circuit boards are repaired. This clamp is situated on top of a piston, which is used to leave the room. Another one appears in the Security Air Lock, where it is used to twist a mechanical gate around.
