The Biological Experiment Floor is a room in the Biosphere in Metroid: Other M. The room is the location of a large Kihunter Nest, protected by a King Kihunter.

Description[edit | edit source]

It bears resemblance to the earlier explored "grand tree room" in the area, with a long, curving platform leading to the top of a pillar. However, the room gives off a blue atmosphere and is more organic in composition. Several Whipvines are attached to the wall of the central structure and try to hit Samus Aran with their tentacles. A Missile Tank can be found as Samus ascends the hive.

As Samus reaches the top, she will find a hole leading into a chamber at the base of the structure. Here, she encounters several Zeros that are quickly alerted by a piercing screech, and then she is attacked by numerous spawning Kihunters. She must destroy several support structures for the main structure in the room, which will then cause it to crack and reveal a King Kihunter. Samus then must fire Missiles at it to agitate it. When defeated, the King shrivels and the remaining Kihunters flee. Samus then notices Little Birdie feeding on their honey, and in a monologue, notes that it manipulated her into destroying the hive. She leaves as Commander Adam Malkovich gives her her next instructions:

Samus. Head to the Biosphere Test area in your current sector. There should be some important information about this facility in that Exam Center. The other members are en route. Quickly, go meet them there.

Samus monologue[edit | edit source]

Some creatures use the powers of others to capture their prey. Watching this disgusting beast, I felt as though it was draining off my power as well. At the same time, a thought crossed my mind. That howl I heard earlier... could this creature have been the source?
