The Biological Experiment Floor is a room in Sector 1 / Biosphere on the BOTTLE SHIP. It appears in Metroid: Other M. The room is the location of a large Kihunter Nest, protected by a King Kihunter.
Description[]
It bears resemblance to the earlier explored "grand tree room" in the area, with a long, curving platform leading to the top of a pillar. However, the room's structures are blue in coloration and organic in composition. Several Whipvines are attached to the wall of the central structure and try to hit Samus Aran with their tentacles. A Missile Tank can be found as Samus ascends the nest, on a lower ledge. At the apex of the pillar is a small cave, through which a steep drop follows. A large pink, hollow plant with a gap in its center gives way to the pillar's interior, a round chamber in which the Kihunter Nest is found. Bioluminescent plants decorate the walls here, and the soil floor in the center has a slope, causing Samus to slide down it.
Role[]
As Samus reaches the top, she will find a hole leading into a chamber at the base of the structure. Once she drops down, the exit door locks and Samus is locked into Search View as she encounters several Zeros. Samus locks onto one. Sensing that they are docile, Samus begins to proceed onward until a piercing screech is heard, stopping Samus and agitating the Zeros. The noise stirs up the Kihunters that have nested in the chamber, and they attack Samus. While fending off their numbers, she destroys the Kihunter Nest's support structures, causing it to fall and crack open. This reveals the King Kihunter. Once Samus kills the King Kihunter, its corpse and surroundings quickly atrophy, and any remaining Kihunters flee. Samus then notices Little Birdie feeding ravenously on their honey, and observes that it has manipulated her into destroying the hive for its own benefit. It then reveals itself as the source of the loud screech she heard before the battle, and earlier in her exploration of the sector.
Samus leaves as Commander Adam Malkovich provides her next instructions:
