A Boost Charge (also referred to as a kinetic charge) is the result of usage of the Boost Ball. It is both an outlet for powering mechanisms, such as Spinners, and a weapon that can be used against enemies.
The Boost Ball allows Samus to charge kinetic energy, and thus launch herself in Morph Ball form at great speed. When the ball impacts into enemies, the hit can be highly damaging or even fatal. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption includes Boost Ball Aiming, an optional feature that allows Samus to position herself and rush at a specific target or area. When a Boost Charge is created, brightly colored energy envelops the Morph Ball before it is released. Boost charging into a hunter with the Invisibility power-up in the Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Multiplayer can reveal them.
