Boss Defeated[1] is a music theme from Metroid Dread. It was composed by Soshi Abe and/or Sayako Doi.

Description[]

Boss Defeated is a quiet, melancholy track. Its melody is played slowly on a low synth, with patterns reminiscent of Metroid Nest. It is backed by a mysterious choir, a high-pitched chime, and various ambient effects.

As indicated by its title, Boss Defeated plays after Samus Aran has defeated most bosses, including the recurring fights against Central Units and Chozo Soldiers; however, it does not play after defeating E.M.M.I., Robot Chozo Soldiers, or Raven Beak. It does play briefly after Samus defeats Raven Beak X however, before the countdown begins. As such, it fulfills the role of Silence (particularly the Boss Go remix) in various prior Metroid games. The song continues playing until Samus leaves the room; if she returns to the room afterward, Boss Defeated will be replaced by the area's respective music.

Boss Defeated never plays in Boss Rush mode, even when the Core-X of Escue and Golzuna are defenseless and ready to be absorbed (a situation where it does play in the main game).
