Metroid Dread Report Volume 10: To those departing for ZDR

Boss Mid Hydrogiga,[1] also known as The Metroid series,[2] is a music theme from Metroid Dread. It was composed by Soshi Abe and/or Sayako Doi.

Description[]

Boss Mid Hydrogiga plays in Burenia during the boss fight against Drogyga. A short excerpt of the track was first revealed in Volume 10 of the Metroid Dread Report.

The song was composed with the philosophy of being evocative of the Metroid series's eerie atmosphere. The melody consists of staccato notes with syncopation, creating uneasy tension. Its instrumentation prominently features high synths and strings, and is underscored by timpani, metallic percussion, and an underlying synth bass beat similar to the Swamp Boss themes. There are also sound effects similar to bubbles to emulate the underwater environment. When the Shootactivators are active or when the water is drained, the theme becomes faster and more chaotic with audio distortion.
