Boss Mid Supergoliath-X[1] is a music theme from Metroid Dread. It was composed by Soshi Abe and/or Sayako Doi.

Description[]

Boss Mid Supergoliath-X plays when Samus Aran battles Golzuna in Ghavoran. It is oppressing, evoking similar music from boss battles in Metroid Fusion, such as VS. Marukara. It only begins once Samus has killed the Muzby and then the Goliath that Golzuna spawns from.

The song begins with a two second foreboding "whoosh" before the melody plays in full. It features heavy electronic instrumentation, persistent high-pitched strings, and a frenetic piano stinger, giving the feeling of a monstrous creature. It loops after about a minute and a quarter.

Boss Mid Supergoliath-X was first heard during the Development History presentation for Dread. It plays when Yoshio Sakamoto is describing the polish done to the gameplay experience introduced in Metroid: Samus Returns.

Boss Mid Supergoliath-X can be heard here.
