Burrow

Unidentified Life Form 18 is a large species of plant that resembles a giant Venus Flytrap. Samus encounters two of them in the Burrow located on Bryyo. Though they ignore her, she uses the leaves that grow out of their vines in order to navigate the area, though they are sensitive enough to disappear for several seconds after she moves across them. The second one she encounters possesses only one jaw.

Metroid: Other M

A species with a similar basis is present in Biosphere in Metroid: Other M, but unlike the species on Bryyo these do not ignore Samus and try to eat her. Some are present in the background and do nothing but some attack Samus. They can be destroyed with Missiles or a Morph Ball Bomb from inside or nearby.[1] If Samus is not careful they can sap enough of her Energy to send her flying to the ground, even to the point of death.
