A bugfly (as named internally) is a small creature similar to an Earth bat. They appear in Metroid: Samus Returns, flying away in the background of Area 1 on SR388 the first time Samus enters the Power Up Cavern. They are seen again in the east part of Area 7, disappearing behind pipework covered with snow. After these respective sequences, they are never seen again. The bugflies cannot attack or be attacked by Samus, and are one of several background creatures introduced in Samus Returns.
