Cavern Beta Access is a room on Phaaze. It appears in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Description[]
This room primarily consists of a long, multi-level tunnel embedded into the wall. The initial entrance is a small alcove with a natural gate blocking access to the rest of the room, in front of which is a group of Glow Stems. There are Phazon growths along the walls and floor as well. A hole in the lower part of the wall leads into the long tunnel, which extends around the circumference of the room and leads to the bottom. The walls along the tunnel are lined with multiple "fleshlike blooms". These must be destroyed with the Hyper Ball, similar to the Phazon vines encountered elsewhere. Destroying all blooms causes the Phazon masses obstructing the tunnel to violently explode, allowing Samus to progress. She must repeat this process twice. Upon exiting the tunnel, Samus will encounter a Phazon Puffer, which she can exploit to lower her Phazon level before moving on.
Connecting rooms[]
- Cavern Alpha (via Phaaze Door)

Scans[]

- "Fleshlike bloom feeds energy into a Phazon mass. Destroying all blooms may damage the growth."
Development notes[]
This room's internal name is 0b_phaaze_hall. The keyword phaaze indicates the planet Phaaze, and the prefix 0b indicates that this is the second of 5 junction rooms on Phaaze.
Cavern Beta Access was designed by Ben Sprout.
