The Checkpoint Station is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
Description[]
The station is a medium-sized room filled with many crates and some Phazon containers. Upon entering it for the first time, Dark Samus is seen fighting and killing three Dark Pirate Troopers. This confirms she is not an ally of the Ing. After finishing them off, she will start to absorb the Phazon from the two canisters near a burning fire. Two more canisters can be seen outside the room sitting on a ledge; these are only present on the first visit. When Samus gets through to the section of the room where Dark Samus was, she will be gone. Samus can destroy the 20 crates scattered about the room to refill her energy and ammunition before facing Dark Samus in the next room. When Dark Samus is defeated and Samus returns to this room, all doors will lock, and Samus will have to destroy a cloaked maintenance unit, which can only be seen with the Echo Visor, in the top corner of the room to unlock them.
The Dark Aether version of this room was the Hive Gyro Access.

Trivia[]
- It is possible to jump onto a broken section of the wall, though it does not, like other solid objects, lead to a Secret World.
- The Phazon crates in the room when first entering are gone when Samus returns to this room. It is unknown if Dark Samus acquired them after the battle to recharge herself.
- Using Debug movement, Samus can reach the main area without triggering Dark Samus. Doing so reveals that the Dark Pirates are firing at nothing but the door, and curiously some of their bullets are being reflected. These Dark Pirates are programmed to only fire their rifles, never using melee attacks. They will initially not notice Samus but can still damage her. However if Samus crosses an area just before the large bolted door in the Pirate's side of the room, the Dark Pirates will notice Samus and fire at her constantly.
- Dark Samus in this room is not solid, a trait shared in the next room she is encountered in. If the Phazon crates are destroyed, she will still be seen "absorbing fire".
