Chute Leech as seen in Metroid II.
The Chute Leech is seen in Metroid II: Return of Samus. They are found on SR388. It has a flat body and will lie dormant until Samus walks by. Its attack is to jump into the air and then glide down, swaying from side to side using its parachute-like body. Artwork seems to indicate that they have four eyes.
The Choot on Zebes is almost identical to the Chute Leech, but has some minor differences.

Trivia
- Octrolls in Metroid II behave the same as Chute Leeches, but dwell in Acid.
- It is unknown if the Chute Leech species was infected by the X Parasites, as Samus never encountered any Chute Leech-X in Fusion.
- In Metroid: Samus Returns, Chute Leeches spawn from fissures in dangerous liquid. The chute leeches in Samus Returns look more like the Zebes Choot species.
