Cliffside Two is a theme from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It was composed by Kenji Yamamoto.

Description[]

Cliffside Two is heard in the upper levels of the Sanctuary Fortress, where rooms such as the Dynamo Works can be found.

Much like the area's main theme, Cliffside Two features electronic instruments that imitate the sound of repetitive beeping at various pitches, giving off a strong "technological" vibe to the song that fits the high-tech aesthetics of the fortress. The bass rhythm also evoke the traditional desert music style of other Echoes songs such as Luminoth Temple. However, Cliffside Two lacks most of the instruments of the Sanctuary Fortress theme, coming across as a minimalist variation. It features a new melody that alternates between high beeping and low electronic sounds.

Trivia[]

  • The track's internal name references "Cliffside", which is also used to refer internally to other songs associated with the Sanctuary Fortress and Ing Hive (such as Dark World Cliffside).
