The Control Bridge is the central control area of the BOTTLE SHIP. James Pierce is ordered by Adam to investigate the area, to repair the communication interfaces. It is a large area with enormous windows outside and an array of control consoles and data screens. As the name implies, this is the area where the majority of the ship's functions are controlled from, most importantly of which is the Ship's course.

Samus returns to the BOTTLE SHIP after her main directive is complete, and passes through here on her personal objective to retrieve Adam's helmet. The accessway to the Control Bridge in a room right before the Main Elevator, guarded by a Desbrachian. After this is an extremely long curving corridor close to the Ship's exterior, where Samus is ambushed by several of the BOTTLE SHIP's strongest bioweapons, namely Ghalmanians, Mighty Griptian, Asboreans, Zebesians, Kyratians, Kihunters, Super Zebesians, and two Rhedogians.

Upon arriving at the Control Bridge, the figure of Phantoon emerges from outside the viewing windows of the room, and does battle with Samus once again. During the battle, the creature completely removes the windows of the control bridge, exposing the room to the vacuum of space and allowing Phantoon greater access to the Bridge to attack Samus. Samus counters this by enabling her Gravity Feature to remain grounded in the room. Samus lands a finishing blow on Phantoon, causing it to fall back screaming into space and explode. After its defeat, a Grapple Point activates in the east of the room, allowing Samus to reach a high ledge and leave the Control Bridge.

The area leading to the main control room is most likely the ring around the "neck" of the BOTTLE SHIP.

Trivia

  • The drive unit that was attached to the Lusitania also has a Control Bridge.[1]
  • Curiously, when replaying the file on which the entire game was completed, the enemies that appear prior to Samus' fight with Phantoon are gone and Samus does not need to fight them again. The same applies to any remaining Desbrachians she kills within the rest of the BOTTLE SHIP.
