Coral01 is a species of coral in Metroid Dread. It appears in only one room within Burenia, at the bottom of the partially flooded shaft with the blue Teleportal. It has multiple tubes with tendrils flowing out of it, and the tubes also release bubbles. When approached by Samus Aran, the tendrils retract, and re-emerge after a few seconds once Samus steps away from it. Coral01 is non-hostile and indestructible, and does not react to Samus if she goes near it with her Phantom Cloak enabled.
Coral01 does not appear to be affected by the later X Parasite outbreak, since their appearance and behavior do not change and they cannot be killed to release X. Although ADAM instructs Samus to assume all bioforms on ZDR have been infected, the X have been known to ignore species they deem as potentially weak hosts, which they may have done with this creature.
