The Crash Site is a room in Bryyo Cliffside. It appears in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and is the location where the G.F.S. Theseus crash-landed and became a shipwreck. Samus Aran enters this area in order to gather information from the Theseus's Satellite Uplink. She initially swings over a large gap to the hull. She must then enter the wreck by bombing open a Morph Ball tunnel, as the regular entrance to the Theseus is blocked by a Blast Shield whose controls are offline.

After Samus reactivates the ship's systems from inside, the Blast Shield is disabled and becomes a regular Blue Door. The Morph Ball tunnel can now be used to access the hull's "roof", thanks to a moving piston that was reactivated along with the ship's other systems. Electrical charges will often surge in the tunnel, potentially damaging Samus as a negative consequence of having restored power to the shipwreck. The newly accessible upper level contains a Missile Expansion.

As Samus leaves the room for the first time, Rundas can be briefly spotted above a ledge to the Cliffside. If Samus moves too close or fires on him, he will perform an ice slide to escape behind the Cliffside. It is possible to scan him before he fully escapes, which interestingly displays his "Hunter Rundas" scan (same as in the Tower Elevator) despite him now being outfitted with a PED.

Development notes[]

This room's internal name is 0c_bryyo_shipwing, referencing the hull of the shipwreck visible on one side of the room. The keyword bryyo indicates the planet Bryyo, and the prefix 0c indicates that this is the third of 23 sets of junction room throughout the planet.
