A Cyclaw[1] (サイクロー Saikurō)[2] is a variant of Skree found in Metroid: Other M.
Description[]
These creatures are seen only within the BOTTLE SHIP. They are black in color with purple outlining and a pair of yellow spheres on its front wings, but otherwise they still possess the same physical structure as other Skree-type creatures.
Their first attack is identical to that of an average Skree, however if the Cyclaws miss Samus with their initial dive-bomb attack, they will quickly stand on their feet and lunge in her direction in an attempt to grab onto her. If successful, they will cling to her until they detonate themselves a few seconds afterward, causing considerable damage. If they miss, they will keep repeating the second attack until killed.
Because the Cyclaws are only present in the artificially-constructed BOTTLE SHIP, it is possible that these creatures cannot be found in the wild and are actually the result of Galactic Federation scientists modifying Skrees to turn them into efficient bioweapons. It isn't fully clear if these creatures are cybernetically enhanced Skrees. Given how they seem to be unaffected by the effects of Gravity within Sector 2 / Cryosphere, it is possible that they are incorporated with Gravity Suit technology (possibly hinted by the purple lining on their bodies).

Trivia[]
- The Cyclaw is similar to the Metaree, in their being stronger variations of the Skree and (likely) artificial bioforms as well.
- The body shape and coloring of the Cyclaw cause the creatures to resemble the "Cylon Raider" starfighters featured in the American television series Battlestar Galactica. However, it is unlikely that there is any true connection between them.
- If the Cyclaw is indeed a Skree modified with Gravity Suit technology incorporated, then this would mean the Galactic Federation managed to successfully replicate the effects of the Gravity Suit. This could be similar to how the Galactic Federation also created Varia Suit data for Samus in Metroid Fusion.
