Dark Echoes[1] is a music track from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
Description[]
Dark Echoes is a track prominently featuring mournful male and female choirs combined with a dark and aggressive synth bass. The song also features synthesized voices, although the words that are chanted cannot be discerned. The theme also incorporates elements of The Luminoth along with part of the melody of Sanctuary Fortress's male choir.
An abridged version of Dark Echoes plays on the menu, while an extended version plays during the staff credits. Another variant, with a heavier emphasis on a fuller choir while removing the instruments from The Luminoth, plays in the multiplayer mode of that game.
Part of Dark Echoes briefly played at the start of the E3 2005 teaser trailer for the sequel to Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
It can be purchased in the Metroid Prime Trilogy Soundtrack Gallery, titled Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Credits. It is also present on the Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Bonus Disc, where it plays when viewing Echoes in The Metroid Chronicle. Finally, this theme is included on the Samus Archives Sound Selection CD with the Special and Legacy Editions of Metroid: Samus Returns, here titled Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
