The Dark Forgotten Bridge is a room in the Dark Torvus Bog. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.

Description[]

Dark Forgotten Bridge's main feature is the bridge in the middle of the room. The ground is a wet marsh of Dark Water. This room is where the Dark Sentinel Crystals, Phlogus and Ingsphere Caches can be scanned first. Platforms lead up to a ledge containing a Bomb Slot that when activated, moves the bridge and the one in its Light Aether counterpart, Forgotten Bridge. The bridge no longer connects to the Bomb Slot's area, but several mushroom-like platforms allow Samus to reach the Light Portal back to Aether. There is also a Spinner in the room that has 50% of its atoms on Aether.

Development data[]

The bridge-rotation puzzle in this room was originally intended to be a showcase of the Dark Visor. Ultimately, because the player would not have the visor at this point in the game, a faint afterimage of the bridge was added instead to communicate that the light world equivalent had also moved.[1]
