Darkness, also known as Dark Samus, is the theme that accompanies Dark Samus during boss fights against her in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, with a remixed version in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. This is not to be confused with Dark Samus Intro, which plays when Dark Samus is nearby.
In Echoes, the theme [1] is heard during the first two encounters with Dark Samus. However, during the third encounter, the Escape theme is heard instead, because of the fact that Samus fights Dark Samus as Dark Aether collapses around them. The theme is also one of the songs available for play in the multiplayer mode, unlocked by completing the game. Darkness is included in the Samus Archives Sound Selection CD included with the Special Edition of Metroid: Samus Returns, and is referred to as Theme of Dark Samus.
Corruption, as stated above, features a re-arranged version that is heard during the attack on Norion as well as the final battle with Dark Samus herself. The original theme, however, is present to some extent, though remixed for the battle with the Aurora Unit 313 in a way that closely resembles Mother Brain's theme in Metroid and Metroid: Zero Mission.
