Embers (as named in game files) are a species of small flying insect seen thriving on Fuel Gel in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. They can be seen flying around in locations containing the volatile substance, most notably the Fiery Airdock. Gel Rays are stated in their Logbook entry to feed on these insects. Just like the moths, they will follow Samus if she is in Morph Ball mode, also if she deploys a bomb some of these bugs will be killed.
