An Emperor Brug[1] is an insectoid creature seen in Metroid: Other M. It is the leader of a swarm of Brugs.
Description[]
The Emperor Brug resembles its smaller Brug subordinates, but with a red color and six green eyes. Its back is colored white like a cornea with a seemingly functional optical organ in the center.
On the BOTTLE SHIP, an Emperor Brug is seen on the ceiling watching over 07th Platoon and Samus Aran. After Lyle Smithsonian kills a Brug, hundreds of them begin crawling out of the walls, and group around the Emperor Brug to assume the form of a Brug Mass, with the Emperor Brug acting as the creature's eye. Striking the Emperor Brug's eye with a Charge Beam, Missile, or Overblast aggravates it into lashing out, allowing the Federation troopers to freeze its limbs and lead to its defeat.
After destabilizing the Brug Mass, the Emperor Brug pops out of the body and is vulnerable to Samus's fire. The Emperor Brug has its own health bar and is relatively easy to kill; ten Power Beam shots, two Charge Beam blasts, or a Missile will put an end to it. If Samus takes too long to kill it, the Emperor Brug will reattach itself to the remaining Brugs and repeat the last phase of the boss battle. When it does so, the Emperor Brug's own health bar will be restored back to full energy.
