The Enky[1] is a plantform that serves as an obstacle on ZDR.
Description[]
The Enky is highly durable and constantly spewing fire around itself, causing damage to Samus Aran on contact. To destroy an Enky, Samus must fire an Ice Missile at it.
There are a total of fourteen Enky plants in the game. Most of them appear in the lush forest of Ghavoran, concentrated near the center of the entire area. Four appear in Burenia, blocking a shaft under the green Teleportal leading to an Energy Part and Missile+ Tank. A single Enky also appears in Artaria, blocking a lower access passage to an E.M.M.I. Zone after E.M.M.I.-02SM is destroyed; this will likely be the first Enky that Samus encounters.
Enky locations are marked on the Map; when one is destroyed, the map will add a note to the location saying so. Before the Ice Missiles are acquired, an Enky is identified as "???" on the map.
Trivia[]
- The Enky plays a similar role to the Geron in Metroid Fusion, and Tangle Vine Fruit in Metroid: Zero Mission.
- The Enky's internal name is Warlotus, which seems to be a portmanteau of the words "war" and "lotus", the latter referencing its plant-like appearance.
