"Environmental Ambience" is an unnamed track from Metroid Fusion. It is not listed on the official Metroid Prime & Fusion Original Soundtracks CD.
Description[]
This theme is a simple low drone playing amongst the background, similar to the droning heard in various remixes of Silence (such as Ele from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes). It is usually used to represent the current mood of the atmosphere or event at hand. It gives a feeling of seriousness or self-reflection from what has just occurred.
This theme plays during certain moments onboard the Biologic Space Laboratories research station. It is first heard when Samus reaches the top of the elevator to the Operations Deck, after she finishes thinking to herself about the naming of her Computerized Co., "Adam". It is next heard after Samus resets the Main Boiler's cooling unit. It is heard again when Samus gets stuck on the Main elevator during her return to her Starship. It is heard once again after Samus defeats Yakuza and enters the Auxiliary Power Station. It is heard one last time after Samus enters the Air Lock hallway immediately after the Restricted Laboratory is seen being jettisoned.
This theme is also used for the Game Over menu. This theme can also be heard during the first three encounters with the SA-X, after the SA-X completely leaves any room in which it failed to detect Samus's presence. Lastly, it is the main theme used for all B.S.L Station Transport Tubes, however this can only be normally heard in Sector 4's transport tube either immediately before or after obtaining the Diffusion Missiles, as that will be the only time default tracks will play. Each other time Samus is able to visit a transport tube normally, Sector 3 Restore the Cooling Installation Timer Mission would be continuously playing instead and will not play default tracks as a result.
A variation of this theme is heard after Samus obtains the Missile data from the Operations Deck. The same low droning can be heard along with an additional high-pitched held note for greater tension.
