Environmental Sound (Shock) (環境音（衝撃）)[1] is a theme in Metroid Fusion. It begins with a heavy drum beat symbolizing a "shock" sound, and then continues into a looping segment of tense strings.
The theme is first heard when Samus uplinks with Adam in a Navigation Room after investigating the Quarantine Bay, and an outbreak of the X Parasite is revealed.
Later, it plays again when Adam reports that the SA-X has invaded Sector 4 (AQA) after Samus lifts the Level 1 Locks, continuing through Samus's elevator monologue until she reaches the Main Elevator.
It is heard again when Adam alerts Samus to an explosion in the Data Room in Sector 5 (ARC) (caused by the Nightmare's escape), and then after the explosion in the Restricted Laboratory (accompanied by a blaring alarm).
The final time it plays is when Samus reaches the Docking Bays while escaping the station, finding it in tatters before the Omega Metroid surprises her. It continues playing as the SA-X that Samus battled returns and fights the Omega, is bested, and Samus absorbs the Core-X. At that point, it transitions into Sector 3 Restore the Cooling Installation Timer Mission.
