Eriko Hirata (平田絵里子) (born December 3, 1977 in Tokyo) is a Japanese voice and motion capture actress with aksent. She provided the voice of the female Operator in Metroid: Other M, during a flashback cutscene. This character, who only has two lines, was voiced by Erika Webright in the English version. Hirata has provided motion capture for several characters in the Metal Gear Solid series, such as The Boss in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Meryl Silverburgh and Crying Wolf in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Paz in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. It is said that during the filming of the Operation Snake Eater scene in Snake Eater, Hirata burst into tears, having discovered her character's ultimate fate.[1]
She shares her name with the development codename of Spore Spawn from Super Metroid, "Eriko Flower".
