The Fake Missile Expansion is, like its name reveals, a fake Missile Expansion. Samus encounters this creature in Sector 6 aboard the Biologic Space Laboratories research station in Metroid Fusion.
When Samus first enters the room, the creature looks like a normal Missile Expansion. However, once she gets close to it, eyes and bat-like wings appear from the item. The creature will begin to fly up for a time, then fly away, though if Samus hits it with a Super Missile, it will be destroyed and transform into an X Parasite. However, If she bombs the wall in front of her, she will obtain a real Missile Expansion.
