Ace! They're closing in fast! We need backup! We need backup!

—SPC F. Triplette

Specialist F. Triplette was a Galactic Federation Trooper gunner specialist in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, part of Force One. He also seems to refer to Captain A.C. Exeter as "Ace", after the initials "ACE". Triplette is seen warning Exeter of the impending invasion of Dark Splinters, and is last seen repelling Dark Splinters with a bayonet, before one leaps into the air and attacks, partially impaling him, which instantly kills him. Triplette's corpse is found in the GFMC Compound.

Triplette alongside SGT E. Monz had been responsible for naming the Splinters, and before his death also noted that they were running low on ammo, and may be forced to use bayonets in the future.

Logbook entry

The sarge says those "Splinters" remind him of some killer bug he saw on another planet once. All I know is the things are fast and take a lot to drop. Pretty soon, we'll have to go to bayonets. Everyone's low on ammo... even Brode, and he's the stingiest grunt I know.

In the Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Bonus Disc preview trailer, Triplette's name was C. Campbell (named after Christian Campbell from the Special Thanks section of the Metroid Prime credits). The trailer also had a variation of the game's Game Over screen when Campbell is killed by the Dark Splinter.
