Metroid: Samus Returns - Launch Trailer is the official launch trailer for Metroid: Samus Returns It was released on the Nintendo UK and Nintendo España YouTube channels on September 15, 2017, the day of the game's release. It is the only trailer for the game not to be uploaded to the Nintendo of America YouTube channel. On the Spanish YouTube channel, the trailer is named Tráiler de lanzamiento.

The trailer entirely consists of sequential gameplay clips, set to the Title, Magmoor Caverns and Boss Alpha2 themes. The footage is bordered by a blue frame with triangular shapes in the top left and bottom right corners, lines circulating around the frame in clockwise order, and hexagonal shapes flickering outside the frame, one of which contains a Metroid larva.

The introduction cutscene of Samus landing on SR388 plays first, followed by clips of her first encounter with a Metroid, which turns into an Alpha. Gameplay that follows includes Samus blowing up a Missile Block, using the Power Grip, acquiring the Varia Suit, using the Grapple Beam and Spider Ball, and encountering a Zeta Metroid. The Boss Alpha2 theme begins playing here as a Grab Sequence with the Zeta is shown, followed by more clips that include Samus running through red plants with the Lightning Armor, shooting enemies, another Grab Sequence with a Gamma Metroid, the Diggernaut Encounter, the Melee Counter, Samus using the Beam Burst on a Blob Thrower, a Power Bomb explosion, battling an Omega Metroid, encountering the Queen Metroid, and finally finishing the Diggernaut off. The trailer ends with a shot of a planet (presumably SR388) and the game's release date, followed by a display of the game's boxart with it running on both a New Nintendo 3DS XL and a New 2DS XL.

The trailer can be viewed in English here: [1], in Spanish here: [2] and in Belgian here: [3].
