Thomas Robins is a visual effects artist. He worked at Retro Studios from January 2006 until March 2020. Robins initially worked for them as a contractor on Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, before being hired full-time and working on their Donkey Kong Country games and Mario Kart 7. Robins eventually became a Senior VFX Artist. According to his LinkedIn profile, he also worked on Metroid Prime 4 (which he wrote as Metroid Prime IV) before leaving Retro. He now works as a Senior VFX Artist at Discord.

According to Robins, he's had his hands "in just about every aspect of art for games." At Retro, he provides cinematics, scripting and special effects for characters, environments, UI, items and more. Robins previously worked at High Voltage Software and at The Amusement Machine, a startup project that did not complete or release any games. However, he valued the experience he obtained there.
