Um, I screwed up again. I tried uploading an image, one that was already used on the site. So I put the filename in the form and it told me it was already on the site and it tells me to reconcider uploading it. So what do I do? Can I make that same image appear on another page? Well I uploaded it anyway and it never showed up on the page. I have no idea what I'm doing and this is the first time I've uploaded an image. The article is "Blood" and the the file is "MP3GameOver".
- First of all, please sign your posts to talk pages and forums with four tildes (

- Now to the point: If you have no idea what you're doing, why are you doing it? If you don't know what you're doing, the likelihood that you do something stupid or damaging increases markedly. If you don't know what you're doing, you should go find out what you're doing; the help pages are usually a good start (at the top of the page, go to More... > Help pages), as is the Images Policy (which I hope you have read). Now that my "read the bloody manual" speech is out of the way.... The first thing is that if an image is already uploaded to the wiki, you don't need to reupload it to use it on other pages. You simply need to include the image again in whatever pages you want to use it in. The basic syntax for including an image in an article is
[[File:Filename (including extension)|type (usually "thumb")|size in px|caption]]
, but take a look at Help:Images and Wikipedia's guide to the Extended Image Syntax for a more complete and detailed guide; the latter also has usage examples. See also Help:Uploading files for help on uploading images, but make sure you read the Images Policy first if you haven't already. Note that if you're having trouble with the normal image syntax, make sure you're using the Rich Text Editor and try using the image wizard. --FastLizard4{ADMIN} (Talk•Contribs•Logs) 10:02, December 2, 2010 (UTC)
