The Forward Throw[1] (前投げ?)[2] is a throwing attack in the Super Smash Bros. series, used by every character. It is performed by pressing left or right, depending on which direction the fighter is facing, on the control stick after the fighter Grabs an opponent. Most Forward Throws are used to knock away an opponent, but are less effective at KOing than Backward Throws.

Unlike Downward and Upward Throws, Forward and Backward Throws have existed since the first Super Smash Bros. game.

Samus Aran's Forward Throw is the Beam Throw[3] (グラップリングスルー?)[2]. Samus, who is holding onto her grabbed opponent with the Grapple Beam, raises them in the air above her and then tosses them forward with a lot of power, dealing a lot of base damage. This ranges from 12-16% (Super Smash Bros.) and 9% (Melee onwards). Dark Samus uses the same Forward Throw as Samus.

Zero Suit Samus uses her Paralyzer in her Forward Throw. Zero Suit Samus hits her opponent forward with her Paralyzer in its Plasma Whip configuration, with a small electricity effect. The attack deals 2%, then 7% base damage.

Ridley's Forward Throw hurls his opponent forward and deals 9% damage. It has the potential to KO if an opponent is near a ledge and has approximately 181% damage.
