Fredrik Bäckar is a Swedish cinematographer. He served as Director of Photography for "Past is Prologue", the live-action commercial for Metroid: Other M. An extended version of it is available on Bäckar's Vimeo channel. He works in Europe and the United States, and is well known for his "frozen moment" technique in his productions. Bäckar did early cinematography for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, before he was replaced by Jeff Cronenweth[1]. His other films include Dust (2009, directed by Max Jacoby) and Kidnapping Freddy Heineken.
