Frigate Orpheon Escape (フリゲートオルフェオン脱出),[1] or Pirate Frigate Escape,[2] is a frantic theme in Metroid Prime.
Description[]
It begins playing when the Parasite Queen falls into the Reactor Core and causes it to become critical. The theme continues as Samus rushes back to her Gunship to escape. Owing to its use in a self-destruct countdown, the theme contains a persistent alarm beeping sound. It stops once Samus reaches the Exterior Docking Hangar, and sees Meta Ridley for a second time, having encountered her during the escape.
There is evidence to suggest that a countdown was planned for the end of the game as well, after the defeat of Metroid Prime damages the Impact Crater's structural integrity. It is possible that a reprise of this theme was planned for such a sequence.
