Fuel Gel Pool is a room in Bryyo Cliffside on Bryyo. It appears in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Description[]

The room is fairly large, with a lake of Fuel Gel in it (hence the name), and three flowing Fuel Gel falls from spouts. A Colossal War Golem head lies in the pool, placed there by unknown means. The Golem comes into use in the Colossus Vista room. To get it there, Samus must command her Gunship to lift it. Later, when she has the Hazard Shield, she can access a cave blocked off by both the Fuel Gel and the golem, containing a Missile Expansion.

Items[]

Missile Expansion
The Ice Missile, Plasma Beam and Ship Grapple are needed for this. Samus must access the Fuel Gel Pool and use the Ship Grapple to lift the heavy golem head out of the Fuel Gel; this comes into use in the Colossus Vista room. Samus can freeze the fuel gel falls with her Ice Missiles to reach an alcove containing the expansion.
Missile Expansion
A second expansion can be obtained when Samus has the Hazard Shield. Samus must jump into the Fuel Gel to find a hidden cave containing the expansion.

Development notes[]

The room's internal name is 0f_bryyo_hall. The keyword bryyo indicates the planet Bryyo, and the prefix 0f indicates that this is the sixth of 23 sets of junction room throughout the planet.

The spouts in this room were designed by Amanda Rotella.

In early footage of Corruption, the Gunship was seen carrying the Golem head out of the room in gameplay rather than a cutscene.[1]
