Gascon Kanaya

Gascon Kanaya is a famous Japanese strategy guide author. During the Metroid-related stories in the tankobon The Shape of Happiness, Samus Aran uses his guide for the game to navigate Zebes, having neglected to bring with her any power-ups. Upon reaching the Zebesian Command Center, instead of Mother Brain, she finds Kanaya's head within the Control Capsule. Proclaiming himself the "master of Metroid", Kanaya states that nothing past the Mother Brain battle can be drawn in the comic since it is a secret, but allows Samus to shoot him as if he were Mother Brain.
