Generator C is the final generator that must be triggered to activate the planetary defence system to destroy the leviathan that is hurtling towards Norion. The first one was triggered earlier, and the second one was activated by Rundas. When the generator is shifted into its active position, but not yet turned on, Meta Ridley attacks and the two fall into a long shaft to the center of the planet. When Meta Ridley is defeated, but not dead he appears again, Rundas comes and pulls samus back up to the top of the shaft so they can go to the control room where the cannon is controlled.
