The Bio-Walls appear in Metroid Fusion as a variant of standard Hatches. They don't attack, but when an X Parasite infects them they grow, and then only the Screw Attack can kill them. Samus can freeze them with the Ice Missiles. Several missile shots will take down the normal green ones, super missiles are required for the purple ones, and power bombs must be used to destroy the orange/yellow ones.

Green bio wall

A green bio-wall blocks the entrance to a recharge room.

Three types of Bio-Walls appear in Metroid Fusion.  They appear to be some sort of X biomass, but have visual characteristics like that of a Kago.  They don't attack, but often obstruct certain areas and serve as a nuisance to Samus, sometimes forcing her to take a longer route to an objective.  Different weapons are required to destroy different types of bio-walls, but all can be destroyed instantly with the Screw Attack.  Green bio-walls are first seen early on in the Main Deck.  Blue bio-walls appear while Samus tries to obtain Super Missiles, and Silver bio-walls first appear in Sector 5, one making an appearance on the Main Deck.

Trivia

 • Bio-wall variants tend to get stronger as the game progresses.  Adam takes note of this when Silver bio-walls begin to appear.  "Samus, I think they are evolving, growing stronger.  Some are now appearing that resist your current weapons."
 • When you lower the water level in Sector 4, you can see a blue bio-wall relatively early.  Run into the room that has a door to the Data room, and go to the bottom, and left.  An X will form into a blue bio-wall in the next room, though you can run past it while it forms.
 • If you progress into the game far enough without destroying the first green bio-wall on the Main Deck, it will disappear.
 • These may be X copies of the bio-barriers of Zebes.
